Careers in Graphic and Interactive Design
Graphic designers work with every medium of visual communication – from typography and drawing to digital images and multimedia – to provide information, tell stories or convey unspoken messages and emotions. They may work in traditional print or online formats, either as independent contractors or as employees and managers in design firms, advertising agencies, media or production companies.

Graphic and Interactive Design at De Anza
The Art Department at De Anza College offers graphic design certificate and degree programs that emphasize
the elements and principles of design in combination with the use of computers, software and other design tools.
These programs focus on the creative integration and selection of type styles and images as they relate to the printed page, film and video output, web-based design, user interface design and multimedia applications. Instructors are practicing professionals and the programs are designed to prepare students to work in their field.
