About Me

I am the faculty Co-Director of the Student Success Center. I received a Master's degree in Education (Language, Literacy and Culture) from Stanford University in 1993, then coordinated the Language Development Center at San Jose State University before starting at De Anza in 1996. After graduating from UC Berkeley, where I worked as a writing tutor and reading instructor, I studied literacy and taught English in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil, and worked in various college and university academic support programs. I live in San Francisco with my husband and have two grown kids.
