About Me
Professor Marx Gomez-Liendo holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the Central University of Venezuela (UCV) and a master’s in social studies of science from the Venezuelan Institute of Scientific Research (IVIC). His teaching philosophy centers on education as an ongoing dialogue within a learning community where all participants learn from one another. With over 10 years of teaching experience in Venezuela and the United States, Marx integrates his professional expertise, activist experience, and advocacy for open access to knowledge, grounded in his belief that education is a fundamental human right. Beyond teaching, Marx has worked as a policy analyst and research associate, bringing a critical, policy-oriented approach to his pedagogy. His primary research interests span interdisciplinary fields and schools of thought, including political ecology, science and technology studies, and decolonial theory.
