Self-Defense


Course Description

This course is an introduction to the discipline of Kinesiology through personal self-defense. This course includes a historical and global examination of self-defense, which will provide the student with a sense of awareness and practical applications that will maximize the student's strength, endurance, and skill relative to gender, body build, and ability to react to various situations. Students will have an awareness of potential problems, attack prevention/avoidance, escape strategies, counterattack, kidnapping, and sexual violence will be discussed. The class also goes through basic exercise physiology, nutrition, fundamentals of strength development, and flexibility.
